The Sheep traveled to Colorado Springs for the 4th year a row to compete in the annual Make-A-Wish tournament.  In pool play the Sheep went 2-1 defeating Team Denver 11-2 and JTB 6-0.  Despite getting up 2-0 on Team Brick, the Sheep couldn't hold on and lost that game 3-7.  The championship game was between the two MN teams (Sheep and Team Brick).  The Sheep got on the board first with a goal from Megan Ogdahl to make the score 2-0.  The Sheep played tough defense and kept Team Brick from scoring until late in the game.  Chris Gatti came up with two goals for Team Brick to tie the game and send it into OT.  The train whistle wasn't enough in OT as Ira Hackner hit the pipe on a hand move and Patty Hegre cleaned it up for the win.  Megan Ogdahl was voted the MVP for the coed tournament and Al Chapman got the "Nice Guy" award.  Thanks go out to the first time Sheep of 2003:  Janis Stephan, Jenny Legro, Dave Roust, Megan Ogdahl and Jeff Wall.  You guys were great!  PARTY PARTY SHEEP!  BAAAA!

2003 marks the first year the Sheep played in the winter carnival and also their best finish in a tournament.  The Sheep lost their first game to the Lot Sots 2-3.  It was a close match with only a one goal difference at all times.  The Lot Sots went on to win the championship.  The Sheep beat Park Liquor 4-1.  It was nice to play against familiar faces (Megan, Jason, Jon, Terry).  Game three was against Champps, the number one seed from pool B.  The Sheep turned on the offense and won that game 5-3 to advance to the semi final game against Cory's Clowns.  The game was quite lopsided with the Sheep getting about 10 times the shots and controlling the ball for about 80% of the time.  The Sheep even had two power plays but were unable to convert.  Cory's Clowns went on to get crushed by the Lot Sots in the championship game.

Brian was on fire and he was fresh not having played in any men's games that weekend.  He tallied up 6 assists and 4 goals in the 4 games.  Jodi also was able to find the net 4 times and had one assist.  Ann and Jessi also added to the scoring with 2 and 1 goals respectively.

There were 10 teams in this C level tournament and with the Sheep's 3rd place finish, this was the best the Sheep have ever done is a C level tournament.  The Sheep took 3rd place in the state C level tournament in 2000, but that tournament only had half as many teams.  Everyone played great and showed major improvement!  AND we made sure to have fun while we played!  Our women were a major force and made a big difference.  Only the Lot Sots had women as good as the Sheep women.
